Iran Says It Could Rejoin US Nuclear Talks provided that Treated with 'Dignity' and 'Honor'
Tehran is prepared to restart atomic talks with the United States as long as it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.
Abbas Araghchi stated solely negotiations was effective, and revealed new appeals had originated from go-betweens to restart negotiations with the Trump administration. He asserted Iran had zero undeclared nuclear sites, and Tehran could not yet authorize the global atomic watchdog to inspect struck enrichment centers for security reasons.
Navigating a Difficult Path
Araghchi is walking a complex path since Iran wishes not to be seen to be acting from a position of weakness, and he consistently maintained that Iran had arisen more resilient in military terms and psychologically from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.
He was talking at a defense forum in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material domestically that it will perpetually retain" – the main reason of the deadlock in the earlier negotiations.
Earlier Negotiations Unexpectedly Ended
The previous five rounds of talks between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with US support, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that concluded with Donald Trump declaring the sites had been destroyed. Following this, European countries exercised their privilege to reimpose UN-wide sanctions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.
Magic Solution Suggested
Iranian officials stated they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in previous talks, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with Washington's engagement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.
It had not been agreed in the negotiations that American atomic experts could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a reasonable assumption of the cooperative offer. Officials asserted on multiple occasions they had achieved a deal with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff only for the agreement to fall apart due to "opponents in the US".
Existing Status
Tehran representatives said the consortium offer was now withdrawn, but it seems very probable the suggestion could be resurrected in various formats if discussions restart.
Trump recently stated he had been receiving messages that Iran wanted to reopen negotiations, but in private Tehran representatives state they are not yet getting consistent overtures from America either directly or from significant local go-betweens, such as Qatar, Egypt, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iran's state department has been accused of non-responsiveness in the aftermath of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran asserts negotiations is not part of a show.
Diplomatic Position
In his address to the gathering, designed to paint the US as a controlling nation that exploits the notion of worldwide standards, the foreign minister stated the 12-day war revealed the conflict could not be ended by military means. He said the strikes began with a US demand for an complete Tehran capitulation and culminated with an unconditional call for a truce.
Iran is assured the initial Israeli attacks were mounted with complete American awareness and collaboration, making faith hard to rebuild.
Negotiations Continues the Ultimate Answer
The foreign minister stated: "Tehran was not the one that had abandoned diplomacy; it was America and the European states that had always tried to impose their will during the negotiations. Diplomacy can still be alive and continues the ultimate solution to resolve disagreements, but its criteria, regulations and tenets must be followed."
"Provided that they talk to the citizens of Tehran with the tone of respect and respect, they will receive a answer in the equivalent approach."
Recovery and Reconstruction
In what is described by Iranian officials as the battle of restoration and recovery, the foreign minister stated he was certain Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been restored. We acquired multiple understandings from this war; we have discovered our personal limitations and the vulnerabilities of the enemy."
He added: "We successfully passed this war. Our atomic expertise, which they aimed to destroy, continues to exist. The installations and machinery, if eliminated, will be reconstructed; what is essential is the determination of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but did not succeed to shatter. The nation of Iran have developed more powerful, more united, and more endorsing of the administration and the nation in the face of this invasion."
